Alt Deco Studio was founded in 2022 by Jules Post Farr. They bring their background in landscape architecture, land conservation, urban design, environmental planning and community organizing to their craft.

"Beads" are made from repurposed salvaged plastic cards, including expired gift cards and credit cards. These cards are collected through crowdsourcing, encouraging individuals and businesses to save the cards they would otherwise toss. The cards are cut with only hand tools, including hole punches, scissors and pliers (no electricity is involved!).

Alt Deco Studio finds value, beauty and utility in materials that are regularly discarded. Your purchase diverts plastic from the waste stream! The single use, disposable culture, especially of plastic, is devastating our planet. Credit/debit cards alone account for a total of around 7 billion plastic cards in the U.S. that will not be recycled after use.
